About the Society

The Eden Port Historical Correspondence Society was established in 2018 to collect, preserve and make available written records relating to Eden Port and the wider Twofold Bay district. Our particular focus is correspondence — letters, postcards, administrative records, and related documents — as primary sources for the social and working history of the region.

The Society maintains a small archive, currently housed at the Eden Port Salvage Centre, pending a permanent move once the Community Hall roof works are completed. Holdings include material relating to the fishing industry, coastal trade, the Davidson whaling operations, and local civic life from the late nineteenth century to the present. New donations are accepted throughout the year; please contact us before bringing material in.

Members meet quarterly. New members are welcome. There is no membership fee; we ask only for active participation in the Society's work.
